with a beg and a plea and a promise to run ahead and a circumstance where nothing will hold you back your ambition stacks to heights where you cannot reach and a line now forms behind you to get a piece the cost to cease and the line holds you down throws your patience away with the rest of today look back, then look ahead now you’re stuck as you try and change your priorities in the line’s eyes it’s when you don’t try that you succeed and with nothing left to move on from where you’ve been you fall out of line and give up before you begin one loss no wins and the line holds you down throws your patience away with the rest of today look back, then look ahead and the line holds you down as it moves with no end as it snakes, as it bends to catch you in it’s grasp

dark. a gray world wraps you around this box wake as the rain falls run as danger calls a wave of night enclosed the sky a path that’s blocked, unsolved to late for light when all was night light around the bend in a tree truck land signs, electric light spark a shocking sight a wave of night enclosed the sky a path that’s blocked, unsolved to late for light when all was night

on your death bed, when your future’s gone, with your memories times and places, with everyone you know, every moment, gone. losing each one, with every blink they’re gone, no tomorrow today breathe your last breath, and it takes a shape, like a daisy like a daisy like a daisy like a daisy, and it takes a shape, your last breath tomorrow, today, with a blink it’s gone, losing each one every moment, with everyone you know, times and places with no memories, when your futures now, will you live life. like a daisy

I see you standing with your back against a wall shrugged shoulders lean back, support yourself so you don’t fall but you’re in a corner, where all you get is what you see but now times are changing, a broken wall lays at your feet change will come to all you know and love change will come to all you know and love change will come to all you know and love change will come to all you know and love

I fought unheard, tongue tied you thought your word was right and it was right do you wonder if it’s coming down? do you wonder if you wear the crown? if you find out what is going wrong would you follow what needs to be done? a wind, a change, of tide always away, a light and it was bright do you wonder when it’s coming down? do you wonder if you wear the crown? if you find out what is going wrong would you follow what needs to be done?

the less you need, the less you want, the more you get a lazy breeze, a lazy man, a busy mind turns a new leaf, turns into dust under your feet look where you are look what I am slip into the cracks they fall through slip into the cracks they fall through an older soul, not old enough, keeps looking back to find his role, to fit a plan, to be his own it set me straight, I’m on the rails, and off the street look what you’ve done look what I am slip into the cracks they fall through slip into the cracks they fall through slip into the cracks they fall through slip into the cracks they fall through slip into the cracks they fall through

a shiver of cold sweeps shoulders bent and endless tree line’s all that’s left shrugging off the loneliness reconciled in peaceful bliss the end.

about

The album Fallen Out Of Line is the culmination of 3 years of on and off work by Peaks Of Valleys. It features a blend of programmed drums and synths, clean and thick electric guitars, and various acoustic elements poking in and out through the album. Vocals range from clean in close to covered and distant, and the lyrical focus is on the obstacles we place in our way as individuals, and how, or if, they can be overcome. Please enjoy it and feel free to contact Peaks Of Valleys at peaksofvalleys @ gmail.com.
